Join us for a unique 12-14 week paid internship that offers personal and professional development, an executive speaker series, and community building. The Software Development Internship program will give you the opportunity to work on complex IT solutions, develop scalable distributed software systems, and collaborate on a variety of smaller, yet universally appealing projects. Software Developer Intern:
As a key member of a multi-faceted team, you’ll work on a specific project that’s critical to meeting Google’s needs. Our developers need to be adaptable and enthusiastic about tackling new problems as we continue to advance the technology. You’ll design, test, deploy, and manage software solutions as you progress through your internship.
Responsibilities
- Building and supporting a team, including working with peers, managers and other teams
- Create scripts to automate routine tasks
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to effectively solve problems
- Apply knowledge acquired in computer science courses to real-world challenges

Minimum qualifications:
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, or post-secondary or training experience focused on subjects related to software development or other related technical fields
- Experience in software development and coding in at least two general programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Java, JavaScript or Python)
- Experience with algorithms or data structures acquired through school, work or other means
Desired qualifications:
- Continuation of studies in Canada and availability to work full-time for 12 weeks outside the university program
- Currently completing their penultimate year of studies, or planning to return to a course after the end of the internship
- Programming experience in at least three of the following programming languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Go, Python, Typescript or similar language
- Experience with building web applications, Unix or Linux environments, building mobile applications, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, designing large software systems, or designing security software
